Who does one turn to to project manage a renovation in France when one cannot regularly be on the spot?
We have been looking to find someone than can oversee and take responsibility for a renovation project that we want to undertake. We do not need an architect, nor an interior architect as we have our own design and technical advice capabilities. The role of a project manager/co-ordinator does not however seem to exsit in France as it does in the UK.
Has anyone got experience of how one deals with this sort of situation in France plaese? Leaving it to the indivdual artisans is not an acceptable option. We are ready to pay what it takes to make sure things are done properly and on time.

If you place the entire project with a large company that has all the necessary expertise inhouse, they will coordinate the various trades.
I am not recommending this strategy as such because obviouslyy it very much hinges on finding a good company who can be trusted to understand and carry out your wishes. Who will manage the project manager and all that, when you're not there.

Search your area for "constructions de maisons individuelles" (house builder). Most will offer project management and other related services. Once you find one, you will likely be surprised at how many there are in a given area.
While not a recommendation, https://www.maisons-qualite.com would be a good starting point.
Also https://www.forumconstruire.com is another reasonable resource but, be wary, the community is very direct.

You need a courtier de travaux Here is an example
https://www.illico-travaux.com/nos-s...ge-en-travaux/
If you google the courtier de travaux + your region you may find someone local to you which is better than a national company as they will know local builders and the way the local houses are built and will project manage/ ensure les prix sont correctes etc
Obviouslt they will charge a fee but if you are not there it will be worth it
