OK guys, you've been warned
A man in Aix-en-Provence, France, has just been sentenced to pay 10,000 euros to his wife. Why? She wanted sex but her husband had 'disinterested' her, not fulfilling his marriage 'duties' for several years.
The 10,000 euros must be paid as damages for 'no sex for years'. The Court based this on Article 1382 of the Civil Code, which states that any person that causes damage to another must repair the damage.
The court argued that the virtual absence of sexual relations for several years, contributed to the deterioration of relations between spouses. For the judges the expectations of the wife were legitimate since sex is an expression of affection they have for each other, and in keeping with continued duties under the marriage.
The husband presented a letter saying that his wife was always too tired to 'honour' him, and the defense has requested reversal/cassation of the decision.
