looks like it's just been made a whole lot easier for a nurse to have their qualifications recognised in France.

The following link confirms that elsewhere-qualified nurses who wish to work in France must "master the French language" as verified by the Délégation Territoriale de l'Agence Régionale de Santé - the OP can check conditions for EU and non-EU nurses, and get their chosen Département's DT ARS address from the link.

Just to clarify, this avoids having to get Diplomas officially translated into French.

Fair enough, but surely everything should be translated into French, although not officially with an Accredited Translator's stamp? Even if the Authorities understand English/Spanish/Italian, etc..., they must surely require French translations of diplomas in all languages, otherwise there'd be discrimination against Hungarian/Czech/Polish, etc... applicants. Unless this is all discussed during the oral examination....
