Hi, we were due to have a carpet installed on our stairs having paid half the money up front 4 months ago. The carpet was out of stock but would be ready in three month, that time came and we got a phone call they had received the wrong carpet, then a week later they didn't show up for the installation saying they'd left a message, then they then changed the date to today, my wife waited at home, still no show and they've said it's tomorrow.

Anyone know of any recourse I can threaten them with or how to get the deposit back?

Cheers

I'm afraid that this is pretty much the norm. If the delay is only one day, you are winning.

Hi, have to agree with this. The number of days we've wasted over the years, hanging around for deliveries or artisans that never turn up when announced...
If yours don't turn up tomorrow, you'll have to look at the small print on your order form to see whether you can legally cancel the order and demand your deposit back.
Hope this consoles/helps!
