We've just sold our house in the Auvergne and wish to move to the Hérault. We need to find a long term rental (all year round). We are a professional couple with 3 outdoor (older) cats. We would like an independant house with a largish garden (or rural beyond the boundaries). We need to move out by the spring so we are seriously looking.

We have been looking on LeBonCoin and well as all the usual property websites. I've also left several notices on different expat forums. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi, buy the "Midi Libre" for the Immobilier section and there's a Supplément Immobilier once a week, maybe on Saturdays.
I live in (very) rural Hérault which isn't excessively convenient for specialist consultations and examinations, and am about an hour away from the TGV (Béziers), less than 2 hours from the two Hérault airports.
Did you want to be near the seaside and near a big town? then look in the plain behind Béziers, Pézenas, Montpellier. More even more rural and in the hills? then all the foothills (Haut-Languedoc and Cévennes) to the north will attract, but winters will be as cold as in the Auvergne!

Thanks so much. The Midi Libre is not a publication we had thought off. We don't need to be near the sea or that close to a town but we don't want to be high up and be cold again! lol We're happy to be 30mins drive from a big town but have a supermarket nearby (say 10mins). We keep being told to come to the Hérault so I think that's clearly where we need to be. :-)
