ive been learning french while working via linguaphone its making me keener!
so can any one put an ear to the ground over there and let me know what the window cleaning inderstry is like. i cant google it coz the results come bak in french.

We're located just north of Saumur in the Loire.
You know, in all the time we've been here, we've never seen a window cleaner in the smaller communes, just in the larger towns.
I think the biggest barrier you'll face (apart from the language) is that the French really don't go in for paying others to do what they can do easily themselves. It's more evident out here in the sticks. You may find it easier to get work in the bigger towns, where folks are too busy to do their own? What you'd need to do is possibly network among the Brits who are either too busy or too lazy to stuff like this themselves! Not a denigration - just an observation. I count myself in the latter category! Life's just too short for cleaning windows!
I once worked as a window cleaner myself in the UK many, many years ago. I know what bloody hard graft it is!

le chant thank for your reply. looked at your places on the cottages4you site i think?? they look beutiful. i'm insainly jellous!! but i'm affrade we were looking to stay quite a bit further south than where you are located. maybe on our next visit.
as far as the heads up on window cleaning goes. thanks again, pretty much as i thought. its a shame because over here its a brill income. not many people know how much money is in it and there is far more demand that there are window cleaners. maybe i can convert the french peoples way of thinking??? i'm not very hopefull. just looks like we will be looking at me comuting.
