Default Importing and getting a carte grise for vintage tractor

Hi,it looks as though our move to our French house will happen this year.I have a 1954 Massey Ferguson T 20 Tractor which is in great condition. It is registered in the Uk for road us.I plan to bring it over on a trailer, but does anyone know the procedure for registering it in France and an idea of cost.
Many thanks.

Hi,
you'd have to google how to actually import it into France on a trailer, but
http://agriculture.gouv.fr/IMG/pdf/g...r_15_10_09.pdf
gives all info on using a tractor in France.
In view of its great length, I only perused it briefly -good luck with reading it and all the pertinent Articles of the Codes cited!

I think your best bet would be to try to register it as a véhicule de collection
Comment obtenir un certificat d'immatriculation "véhicule de collection" ? - Service-public.fr
Just a case of getting all the correct paperwork together (!!!)
Good luck!

My elderly retired French neighbour has an old Massey, which he uses in his and his daughters garden (driving it on the road in between). He is off at the coast at the moment. I will ask him when he gets back if he knows.

Thanks everybody. Vehicule de collection seems a good idea as for the most part that is what it will be. Hi Bigglesworth, I would certainly be interested in what your neighbour has to say.
