Re: How far back do you go - another thread for Treskillard
Hi all
My family has been traced back several hundred years and are solidly Lancastrian, although we like to think further back we were Vikings. Different story for my husband though, since we arrived here a family member has done a family tree and found a French ancestor who fathered 10 children, then skipped over to England around the time of the Revolution and fathered another ten. My husband is particularily proud of this story! We had hoped he was an aristo and we could lay claim to the family chateau, sadly he was just a rogue... but we hope to look further into the murky story! |
Re: How far back do you go - another thread for Treskillard
I've been trying to trave my family back on a site calle genesreunited, which has been a really useful source of information, and I've managed to trace one line back to the 15th Century, know as the Belchamber family which apparentmy is of Norman origin. One guy has even created his own website all about it. Turns out it's a bunch of Normans (had to be really, sorry Val and Treskillard!!) Here's the link for anyone intrerested : http://www.belchamber.me.uk/4596.html
