Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger
It's a funny old world when we moved to France almost twenty years ago the ADSL "Broadband" roll out was really slow getting a decent phone line was well a journey all by itself, Now when you go into an Orange shop you can't get a PSTN phone line if you move or get a new line it will be supplied via VOIP services and our village is being wired for Fibre, Our whole department is going to be wired by 2021 Fibre rollout in France is "Pardon the pun" light years ahead of the UK.

On initial read of the title I thought this was destined for the bad joke section.......
Seriously though, when we first had ADSL Broadband I thought speed-wise it was the bees-knees. Now since our small village has been wired for Fibre and now wired into our home, the difference in speed is truly incredible. Completely changes the internet experience, especially downloading YTube videos - using the superb 'ClipGrab' which I can highly recommend.

We are due to have fibre by April. For 20 years the broadband and the portable signal have been non exsistant. We have a sattelite connection at vast expense. I'll believe it when it happens.

Title of the thread I happen to be listening to Daft Punk at the time so it seemed apt...

I went from fibre optic in Paris around 10 years ago, to just 0.5 meg broadband (the lowest of the low) when I moved to the countryside. Nearly 10 years on and it's been upgraded to an amazing 1meg (in reality about 110kb/s) - I can just about watch a YouTube video at 360p without pausing as long as I'm not using the Internet for anything else. I can't see it changing any time soon for myself, but I've learnt to live with it. Would be nice if they upgraded all departments.
