Default Grants for insulation?

Does anyone know of any grants that can be obtained for insulating a house we have been eying up the external insulation system for our house a as it is better than just filling the wall cavity plus the loft is somewhat lacking and wondered if there is any help towards the cost of this like UK government grants. We had the windows changed this year and have to work out if we are entitled to any of the Credit Impot for it.

Hi, start by declaring the windows (enclosing the bill) in your next Déclaration des Revenus. They should take this into account and reduce your 2014 Income Tax accordingly. If you get the insulation done and billed by 31st December this year, you can declare it at the same time for a correspondingly bigger reduction, but if you pay in 2014, you'll have to declare it for the following year.
I've read on this forum that if you aren't "imposable", the fisc sends a cheque...

Yes we had a check for our heating in our previous house, Im wondering if their are grants though that help with more of the cost not just the tax part.

AFAIK a reimbursement (well) after the event is as far as France will go. You prove that you've paid for the materials and maybe a bona fide artisan (not sure about DIY) and the fisc will reimburse you the following year...
I'm only going by experience, mind, going back a few years now.

Hi,

There are new grants available for insulation and there is a French government website that gives you all the criteria to see if you are eligible (it depends on your income and how much insulation you are carrying out etc).
