Not sure if there are any F1 fans here but you have to be stonkingly proud to be British today. This is a sport we own whether it's teams, technology or drivers - we are there and when we win, we win better than anyone.

It's an English sport at heart lots of the teams engineering facilities are based near Milton Keynes. But good ole Hamiltwat has done it again and I think Rosberg had a suitable failure so he didn't lose face.

Did he not move to Monaco so he didn't have to pay tax in the UK......or did he say it was because of the lack of privacy in the UK....
Not for me I'm afraid.

It kind of compensates for the 400,000 French living in London who are not paying French tax!
Mercedes, McLaren, Red Bull, Williams and Lotus F1 teams are all based in the UK employing thousands of people plus F1 magnate Bernie Ecclestone lives in the UK and is worth over £4 billion and his daughters have just blown their through their £3 billion trust fund so the UK does pretty well out of F1.
There has not been a French F1 since 2008 nor a French team since 2011 and consequently France is missing out on all this business so how about they build a new F1 circuit in, say......Bourg d'Oisans? There is no mountain circuit on the F1 calendar so it would be a fantastic coup for France and it would create lots of jobs carving a circuit round the mountains plus a new airport, motorways, hotels etc.
Maybe Bernie can suggest it to Francois next time they have a knees-up?

He flies the union jack above his head but doesn't want to pay his way. As I said not for me but I'm happy for all the F1 fans who celebrated his win.
