Default Emergency dental treatment

any ideas where to look for emergency dentists over the weekend?
my tooth has just broken - half has literally fallen off. Thankfully it's not painful - yet. Tried to contact our local dentist but he's not open again until Tuesday. Do local hospitals do dental work if it's an emergency

have you tried urgences dentaires in pagesjaunes.com ? - I believe there is a section and you can search by departement / location.

Hello stranger! Hope you're OK (apart from the tooth!)
You could try your Gendarmerie or Commissariat (the landline number, not the emergency 17) - they should give you the telephone number of the nearest "Dentiste de garde".
There may in fact be a four-digit national number, like the Pharmacie de garde, but I'm afraid I don't know it....
Good luck, anyway!

Masion Medical "Weekend Doctors" will know. Hospitals o usually have a pretty rough and ready dental department although I suspect an Urgencies Doctor would have to page them over the weekend for urgent treatment. Good luck

Do you mean the red wine clouded your judgment, and that the tooth wasn't broken after all?

Have you had any luck?
I found a French forum on the same subject and some one suggested ringing the 15 and asking them. (No feedback, so no idea how it turned out - to my mind, the 15 is an ambulance job...)
Bon courage!

I dont see SAMU being too impressed by that as around here it put's you through to Urgencies then based on you description of the problem an ER doctor they then jump in a car a floor it whilst also paging the Pompiers to respond as well.

Non life threatening medical treatment at the weekend first port of call should be your local Masion medical. The only time I would alter this is if someone fell over hit their face and broke a tooth that would warrant Urgencies.

I agree about the SAMU, it was a French forum that suggested the 15.
The problem in our neck of the woods is that the nearest Maison Médicale is closed at weekends! And the nearest 24/7 Clinique doesn't have dental equipment.
Our dentist does in fact have an Hérault number displayed in his waiting room for emergency treatment when he's closed, but that wouldn't have been much good for Val!

unforunately no, the tooth is still broken, although the wine is helping - medicinal of course
thanks all for the replies. I suddenly remember our eldest was at school with someone whose mom is a dentist locally so got in touch with her. She can see me Monday so just hoping the filling doesn't fall out before then.
Bon weekend

Why they are meant to be closed in the week and open at the weekends, To compensate for the fact that all the GP surgeries are closed. Even England has bog standard GP's available somewhere at the weekends so you dont have to go to A and E although there is usually a wait to see one.

Your maison médicale must be different from ours! Our nearest one is basically a building containing a G.P.'s surgery, a Skin Specialist, a group of physiotherapists and a group of nurses. And it's only open weekdays, by appointment only! The Clinique I mentioned does have an ER, which is just as well, as we live almost an hour away from the nearest real hospital!
Our area is a good example of "désertification", doctors retire and no one wants to come to a rural area to replace them...
