I'm not bothered about 2 x 50c kine deductions (albeit I haven't had kine for 8 months!!) My initial question was, should we not get 16.00 eu back as most of my friends do?

Going right back to square one here! The other deductions from the 16.10 are accummulative from your prescriptions at 50 c per item, so over the past couple of months your OH must have had 24 x 50c and yours calculated in the same way. The CPAM always tot them up and deduct them when you next see a doctor/specialist which avoids the unimaginable amount of admin invoicing everyone for every time they collected a prescription. Can you imagine??

Nope, the one my husband got back had deductions as follows:-

Pharmacie -5.50
Kine -0.50
Kine -0.50
Pharmacie -4.50

4.10 was put into our account

Mine was a deduction of -5.50 for Pharmacie. 9.60 was put into our account

So you are both 1 euro out for something if you are sure the first euro had already been deducted for the GP visits. You'll have to take it up with the CPAM if you think it's worth it for 2 euros!!

Because you told me you only paid the difference lacking from the automatic amount reimbursed via your carte vitale at the pharmacy - make your mind up! Did you pay for the medicaments in total or did you only pay the difference?? Surely you must have checked the return side of the prescription to see how much was being charged to the 'Assuré' (ie you as you have no mutuelle) and how much via your carte vitale to CPAM?

So if you paid, say 100 euros, was that for all the medication IN FULL - if so, why did you give them your carte vitale? The whole point of the carte vitale is that that portion of the prescription is automatically paid by the CPAM to the pharmacy. It's my guess that you only actually paid the AMOUNT NOT REIMBURSABLE which is what I've tried to explain. The pharmacy was reimbursed the rest (because you gave them your carte vitale) directly from the CPAM which IS WHY you've been charged 50c per item. Have you still got your prescriptions which state clearly on the reverse side the amounts charged per item and the total then break it down as to who's paying what.

If I can make it any plainer: last week I had various medication. Total = 39.49. SS (CPAM): 19.45. Mut: 20.04. Assuré 0. So in your case this would have been without a Mutuelle you would have paid 20.04. Now, you may ask why was the CPAM only reimbursed 19.45 and not 65%. This is also complicated. Medications are reimbursed at different rates according to the colour on the 'vignette' (bar code). Yellow and blue are reimbursed less by the CPAM but in my case all prescribed medications are covered 100%. So please, take a look at the calculation on the back of your prescription! I'm slowly losing the will to live ......

Seriously, if you have a prescription filed away, please state on here what it says precisely for Total, SS, Mut and Assuré then I'm sure all will become clear. Also have a look at your medication. If any of the vignettes are any other colour than white, eg yellow or blue, you will not be reimbursed the full 70% for them. Scroll down in this link to see the amount you will be reimbursed according to the colour of the medicines. If they are blue it's only 30%, if they are orange/yellow it's only 15%.

PS Don't waste your time emailing the CPAM! Check your vignettes on your meds, then go to the pharmacy and ask them to tell you the breakdown of your last prescription - ie amount reimbursed by CPAM and the difference paid by you. They can do this easily. You just give them your carte vitale and they can check immediately on their computer.
