I am not saying its the pits I just don't see the point. Given that greenacres is full of expats houses for sale in that neck of the woods a lot of people seem to agree with me. Enjoy your fish and chips. ;) |

Enjoy your fish and chips. ;) never eat fish and chips. Its confit de canard for me, along with the Jambon crue, pate and Toulouse sausages all my own make. That's one of the joys of living in Rural France and completely integrating with the community. |

Well here's one who is a weird not normal retired expat and proud of it.
I lived in the LOT for 25 years and always found it a good place to be, not the pits as a certain person here is always posting. If you need any personal advise just contact me. I also have a property for sale in the lot which is very dog friendly. |

It's no sadder than filling you car full of cheap wine and cheese and driving back to England, I wasn't aware that there is some moral code expats should use whilst residing in a foreign country.
Furthermore, what about food miles. Stupid people are burning this planet. |

Not the same. Doing your weekly food shop in Ashford as opposed to carrefour when you living in Eymet or wherever is sad. Plain sad.

Re: Cold feet ?
Hey you guys, we don't want this thread to turn into another fist-fight, do we? We're supposed to be helping the OP get over her cold feet, not discuss every one's shopping habits, bad or otherwise.

They are entitled to do it but it is just as sad moaning about them on the internet. Most of the fruit and veg you buy comes from else where the Spanish certainly saw to that.
The point I am trying to make with the Tescos food vans is that moving to an expat area of France means that you will be seen by the locals in the same light as these numpties. I personally could not do that as I would feel embarrassed and would never feel at home. Feeling at home when moving to France is very important to survival. |
Re: Cold feet ?
I seem to remember it cropped up on another thread how to block a poster so you don't see their posts, can somebody remind me how you do that please?
Otherwise I'll end up posting some of the things that I keep typing and then deleting, and I'll regret it. |
