We are purchasing an apartment in Nice and wondered if it is like the UK where you can get a package with cable TV / phone / broadband all in one package.
Does anyone have any info on this / web sites, or names of companies to contact?
Does anyone know if the cable companies have UK channels?

A lot of the ADSL providers now have packages for phone and cable however you still have to get a France Telecom line (well with us anyway) which is like the BT system in the UK. You can find plenty of providers by googling (eg neuf, freebox etc). Not sure about UK channels but you could find out with the company you go with. Otherwise my father-in-law managed to get some of the UK digital freeview channels via a satellite dish - he's in the Loire Valley.

Are you thinking of purchasing or are you actually in the process?
Is this a new build? if not, if your apartment is in a block check if it is already wired and operating. I would have thought the sale details would provide some info.

Yes, in nice there is http://www.numericable.fr that provides the whole package.( TV+Internet )
I would recommand that you take a FREEBOX ( DSL+TV ) that will be cheaper and you'll get free phone with that. ( but there is a cancellation fee if you decide to quit early )
