Brits travelling to Schengen from 1.1.2021
The EU has confirmed how it will work for Brits travelling to Schengen after the end of transition https://ec.europa.eu/info/sites/info...nal_public.pdf and the situation has been condensed into a clear explanation by the britishineurope organisation. There have been one or two queries from posters asking how their comings and goings will be monitored - maybe make this link a stickie?

and since the follow up question is usually What happens if I overstay? this might be useful too

Agreed, a good and valuable post.
Slightly aside, I rabbit-holed on the "britishineurope.org" link above, not on the question of Schengen travel per-se, but more drilling down on pensions/healthcare.
This is the first I've heard of the concept of "competent state" concerning healthcare: apart from the obvious misnomer when applied to the UK, the detail may merit another thread in its own right?
