I hope that there may be someone out there who can help me with some information about obtaining a work permit for teaching in Thailand.
There seems to be a great deal of conflicting information on the web. I would be very beholden to anyone who has a spare moment to give some advice to a fellow Brit (though also Canadian).
Here is where I stand;
1. I have an offer of a teaching position in Southern Thailand.
2. I don't want to arrive and teach illegally
3. So I need a work permit.
Can anyone help me a little with the procedure I should follow. I am now in Canada.
a. Do I need a Letter of Invitation from employer.
b. Does employer have to apply for this.
c. What is the fastest way procedurally to get there and start teaching (legally of course)
Sure would greatly appreciate any response.

Mate there is no way round it. You come to Thailand and get a non immmigrant B. This will do you until the school do the paper work regarding your work permit. Check here.
