It depends what you want. Genting Highlands is one big gambling casino with some funfair type places and a theatre, in my own opinion a bit tacky. Cameron Highlands is very colonial and a bit cooler away from the humidity. do a google search for both and see what you make of it. Enjoy what ever you decide.

Genting Highlands is where Singaporeans go to gamble; Cameron Highlands is where British Expats living in Singapore go for cream teas. Not a lot else there though, I am told.

As I said a great big gambling casino, i thought it was quite sad really. I lived in Kuala Lumpur and went up to Genting Highlands for a look with a lovely Chinese couple who were our neighbours. You could have breathed in the smoke and got lung cancer and most of the people gambling looked as if they were gambling the shirts off their backs. Cameron Highlands is not just for British Expats it is a beautiful green cool resort in the Highlands with tea plantations and hotels which are very colonial and very peaceful, you say you have been told and by that you havent been there yourself so cant really say what they are like. bcw123 it depends on what you like to do or see.

Not been there myself but some friends drive up to Cameron Highlands from Singapore and they say it is really nice - but to avoid night driving up there.

It would also depend on what you want to do. Cameron Highlands is fairly quiet and there isn't much to do at nights or if it's raining. You may want to consider other options such as Melaka or one of the islands.
