moving to Nepal
Hi everyone,
We are moving with our kids this summer to Kathmandu. Is there anyone who could give us insiders view on the American Lincoln school versus the British school?
Any other tips on how to make the transitions smooth, most welcome.
Greetings, Anneke

I'm not sure where you are moving from or the schools you mention, but a major difference and something which you probably have a preference for, is that one will follow the American curriculum, and the other the British. So the subject contents will differ, as will the atmosphere/culture of the school.
I spent several years as a child at an International School in Saudi, based on the UK system. It was a multi-cultural school, and 2 years ahead of the system generally at home. It was an excellent school and I loved my time there. The US school was not as good academically (so I heard) and not as multi-cultural as it mainly attracted US expats. However I had friends at that school too. Anyhow, from this experience and moving back into the UK system in time for the formal exams, I would advise you to visit both schools obviously and get a feel for yourself, as well as think about the longer term - ie would one perhaps be a better choice than the other should you relocate again at some point.
Hope that helps and good luck with the move. I think a bit of the 'when in rome' attitude is brilliant for being accepted and therefore settling into new cultures.

Hope you have a wonderful time in Kathmandu. As far as the schools go, I am sure they are both good. But I personally prefer Lincoln School ( maybe I am a little bias as I live in the US ). You can check out their website and get more information to make a decision.

Nepal is a wonderful Country. Kathmandu, although very crowded can be very fun place to hang out. Once again, hope you and your family have a very pleasant time in Kathmandu, Nepal. Although, you do hear about the maoists problems elsewhere, it is pretty safe in kathmandu.
Goodluck,
-Jay
