Bringing my Romanian girlfriend home to Malaysia with me
Hi,
I am a Malaysian who is currently studying in England while my girlfriend who has already graduated are back in Romania. I had difficulties in getting a job in England, so I planning to go back to Malaysia along with my girlfriend.
I have been told by my girlfriend that the Romanian Government is really strict on its citizens travelling abroad, in terms of immigration and visas. But I had just found out that she could come for a stay not exceeding 3 months in Malaysia. Then, she could go to Malaysia's neighbouring countries such as Thailand and Singapore for 3 days, then back to Malaysia again to renew the visa for another 3 months.
I am wondering if it is possible for me to send her an invitation and being her sponsor for a duration much longer than 3 months.
I hope someone out there could help me regarding this matter.
Cheers
Ryan

Well, I don't really have any info for you...I'm Romanian as well, in Romania right now , trying to get a J1 visa for US - it will be my 3rd time there, but things are really tight with the visas right now .
I travelled in singapore in 1999..I didn't have to apply for a visa..they gave me a 30 days stay on Changi ...and I remember i could prelong it . Maybe she can come to Singapore first ..as about what papers she needs to cross the boarder in Malaysia, i don't know...but I also remember my rom friend in Sg told me at that time I will not have any problems visiting ur country - I was trying to visit Melacca, but never did .
I hope you two can find a way out...I'm also apart from my bf - he's in the US and I understand how hard it is . Meanwhile what she can do ..is to go to Malaysia Embassy in Bucharest and try to talk to a consuler ...really nice people are working there ...they talked to me ab Malay Annals when I went there and gave me lots of info ab Malaysia & Sg . good luck to you !

Cocolina,
I am thankful for the information you have given me. However, it would be better if we can keep in touch through e-mails as I still need some advise from you regarding this matter if it is possible. My email address is [email protected] or [email protected]. I also have a Yahoo Messenger ID, which is ferglryan2000. I hope you can contact me in any of the ways from above.
I thank you once again.
Regards,
Ryan
