I don't really get it , but I read on Al-Jazeera's website that they're worth $40 dollars each right now .

I was listening to Radio 4 on this the other day, only caught the end though, they are a replacement for transferring currency between countries
May be a big thing if they take off but a long shot, if you are thinking of investing in them they said steer clear

Wasn't thinking of investing , just understanding. The whole thing about mining for them passed me by.
