Would like to ask regarding the tax return. I have a friend who worked before in the UK. Her visa expired 2011 after 2 1/2 yrs. By working in a home care, but never get the tax return. She said she submitted a paper from the Tax office and said that just need to wait for a few months. One of her friend received 1200 pounds for the tax return. Can she still get paid?

Hi Elite, Not everyone gets a Tax Return, the Inland Revenue will review each case individually, if your friend paid to much tax within the period she worked then she may be entitled to a Tax Return from them.. You will need to seek advice from an Accountant in the UK who can check with the Inland Revenue if your friend is entitled to anything.

I'm not quite sure, but she mentioned about the emergency tax. She said that that 1 year before she left the country, she received a tax return/rebate of 800 pounds because she's paying emergency tax. That means she cannot get rebate anymore?

If she has already received a Tax rebate, then usually they would not rebate more money to her for that tax year. You would need to seek professional advice from someone who could look at her case individually.
