Re: The white Stuff
Michael - just noticed the web site says they are closing the slopes from April 1st ! All that snow - why dont they open weekend ?
Must be mad. Michael PS Should have spotted that before asking ! |
Re: The white Stuff
Just had some pictures from KG sent to me. It seams winter has returned again!
Maybe I will have to take some ski equipment out with the shorts and sun cream this summer. |
Re: The white Stuff
I just got back from California and although it was warm around SF, we ran into blizzards and snow when we came to Lake Tahoe ... thought it would have cleared by May

Re: The white Stuff
Love California, Yosemite before it was 'discovered', Lake T etc etc but only once been skiing in US, somewhere a few hours from Scottsdale AZ - Happy Valley ??
But great news a metre of snow dumped on KG last night. I have great photos e mailed to me of cars buried but just don't know how to put them up........ So may just have to look at flights and try to ski with buddies who are booked to go to SLO this month. Always think of Adele when it snows and J & R ex Ourslo who look snowed in. Have a great weekend and good luck to England taking on the what could be a good French team. Still I believe we have won most battles with them unless someone can convince me otherwise....M |
Re: The white Stuff
Glad to know you're thinking of me!!!
After a 'green' winter up to now, the snow is certainly making up for lost time. Half a metre fallen in just 24 hours and its forecast to continue for the next few days too. It's now at that stage where there's nowhere left to shovel it, no pavements to walk on.... Needless to say, I still hate snow :( Actually, I don't mind it when its in the mountains i.e. there where it should be and looks pretty but not down here and especially when there is so much of it like now. Roll on spring! Regards to all! |
Re: The white Stuff
Had a meal in your little town in December but we probably will never meet up although I have seen a picture of the back of your head ! Cannot remember the gaff but the one in the old town with the amazing valley view. Tad cold to eat out on the terrace but the 'owner' seems to enjoy a drink or three ..... Probably helps keep him warm. Bit of a character.
Food OK for a late lunch. Certainly it was about a metre in KG as the photo would prove. Cheers and wishing you warm. M & G |
Re: The white Stuff
When you guys go and live abroad don't you still talk about the weather like those of us back home??
I cannot believe that the nobody has written about the terrible 'hoar ice' that Slovenia has been suffering and the tremendous dumps of snow in ski areas and other more unlikely areas ! It made the front page of the bbc.com website earlier this week saying a quarter of the forests damaged, a quarter of the people without power, stranded people in Croatia as well. 500 tons of iron and power lines still down on Tuesday...... Daughter was in SLO mainly Ljubljana at the weekend and said that the ice on the trees was so heavy that when it hailed it broke branches off the trees damaging cars near the castle and also on the way to the airport trees down. Even too much snow to get about and ski ! Anyway if you are interested in weather it is still raining here in Blighty.ed. Somerset is the new Waterworld with marauding bands of looters, even HRH Charley boy went to see what was going down - clearly not the water level? The French spoilt last weekend for me, surely it will not happen again even with the likelyhood that this could be the next new eu country. Stay warm, stay safe, Michael |
Re: The white Stuff
Hey last week there was snow .....I wonder if it will now stay on the tops of the slopes?
It will be 10 degrees in KG today and for the next three days. It was glorious when I was their mid week so I think it will be gone by Monday. Does anyone care?? M |
