From Trieste you need to go to Croatia (visa?) to capital city named Zagreb.
Take the bus from Zagreb ( Zagreb Autobusni kolodvor is the name for central bus station) From Zagreb Train Central Station there is 800 m to the bus station ( walk to East).
There is a bus to Sarajevo (visa?) which is some shorter time to travel.
