Hi everyone,
Advice needed.......
I'm currently in North America but my visa runs out in June, I want to go to Australia in January 2012 but don't want to go back to the UK / my boring home town in the interim.
I'm a UK citizen therefore can work any where in the EU but I only speak English (and a small amount of embarrassingly poor French), so does anyone have any suggestions of English speaking European places I can work in the interim. I will work anywhere - within reason!
All advice greatly appreciated!!
Thanks,
Helen

Your areas are limited I'm afraid, and I guess it depends on what line of work you are interested in. Bar work in Spain might be an option

Other countries can be possible, there are multinational companies in European countries that let English people work there, even if they can't speak the language.

Why not try the Republic of Ireland, although the summer would be better as there are more jobs in the tourism industry.

Unemployment is high but it affects mainly the professional building, much less to other sectors.
Unemployment in Barcelona (and Catalonia) is not related to unemployment in Spain. Spanish unemployment is structural in nature and difficult to solve.

Bottom line is, as with anywhere ... if you go for a job in Barcelona and you compete with Spanish citizens and speakers when you cant speak Spanish, then theres often not going to be a contest
Anyway ... back on subject I guess
