Default studying in England

I was wondering if anyone could help me to understand something. Im an american looking to study in london. Im hoping to enter into a graduate level program and the schools entry requirements that Im looking at says that the school requires a second class BSc honors degree in my major. What exactly does the honors second class mean? Here we do have honors degrees from honors and scholars colleges, is that what it wants? Im not enrolled in an undergraduate honors program, but my grades are great. I read on another forum that the honors denotes your class rank. Is it sufficient to be in the top of my class with a BS in my major? Thanks

You should really ask this question of the UNI. you want to attend. i.e. do my qualifications fit your requirements type of thing.
Any how here is something you should read maybe it helps explain the UK system.

It sounds to me like it is, but you need to get them to confirm that you meet the entry criteria before you make travel plans.

I'll bet if you post in the USA forum, you'll get plenty of useful replies.
The question comes up frequently for going the other direction.
