Question Paris Time through Customs

Hi, I will be arriving in Paris CDG Airport Terminal 1 at 9:45am on a Saturday in September.

I have booked a TGV which leaves CDG Terminal 2 to Nice which leaves at 11:24am.

Do you think I can alight from the plane (British Airways from Heathrow), go thru customs, pick up my luggage and then catch the shuttle train to Terminal 2 in that time (1 hr 39 mins)?

If not, I'll probably have to change my tickets.

Thanks

It really depends on whether your arrival happens at the same time as an arrival from
Africa or Asia (large planes of people whose credentials are checked more thouroughly
(OTOH if you have a EU passport . . . ) the next concern is baggage itself. Luggage
can come slow, agonizingly slow, at CDG but all in all you should be able to make
your connection, just keep saying "C'est ne pas grave, C'est ne pas grave" and
remember there is always a later train.

the main issue is going back through security in terminal 2 -- in my experience the
check in /security process takes a full two hours at CDG --

oops misread thought you were catching a plane at T2 -- this should be enough time if
everything goes well but luggage is sometimes delayed

I think it's a shuttle bus?

As to a 1:39 connection, I would think if I can make one with terminal change at LHR,
one should be able to at CDG too. OTOH, if there are enough flights on your route
and, say, you can take a flight 30 minutes or an hour earlier, and you feel the added
peace of mind is worth it, why not?

(BTW, if you fly from YYC, I would fly to NCE, not to CDG.)

Tight. Ask British Air what they think.

If you're arriving from outside Europe , can you not fly into CDG directly? It'll
shave several hours off the connect time in London and also potential for snarl ups
at CDG (there are many) as well as the possibility of ATC delays at LHR.

If from London, it might be easier to just take Eurostar and change in
Lille.

It could potentially take a long time to get through immigration at CDG T1 (it can
vary from long to no queue at all) and then get the shuttle bus to the TGV station (i
took it in reverse on a weekday afternoon - took the shuttle some 15 minutes to come
around (several shuttles to CDG 2 had come and gone in the mean time). Bus was
overcrowded with a mad no-queue-first-on-wins rush to get on. Same thing happened at
the other side (pax waiting at CDG 1 to get to the TGV station).

I was departing through CDG T1 in April. Saw long lines of what appeared to be
Americans trying to through immigration. French national police can be ver fast if
they wish, btu also irritatingly slow.

I agree that the timing would be tight. Last fall I allowed myself two hours to
change planes in Paris (Paris-Toulouse) and I missed my flight because of security
checks. Be prudent and allow three hours.

Last month at CDG I went through immigration and customs in less than 5 minutes.
In 7 trips through CDG in the past 4 years I don't think it ever took me more than
10 minutes.
