Non-EU moving to the UK on family permit
Hello all
My husband is Australian and currently in the process of moving to Spain Where we'll get a residence card. As he's married to a EU citizen it comes without the bureaucracy! The questions that I have are;-
Once he gets his Residency card for Spain can he automatically apply for a EEA family permit for the UK (which is where I am from) straight away? Or does he have to wait.
Thank you

I cant answer your question exactly regarding the UK family permit. Welcome to the forums though.
All I would say is that there is no such thing as residency in Spain any more for an EU citizen. You simply have to sign on the register of foreigners now, and you get an A4 certificate

As you're an EU citizen, you and your family can live in any EU country, UK included, for as long as you like with no bureaucratic hassle. Non-EU family members just need a passport for a stay of up to three months, after which they can register with the local authorities for a longer stay (with the certificate gremmy mentioned). After 5 years they then get permanent residency, if they like. Basically, due to your UK passport, you can all (spouses, kids, even grandparents) live wherever you want within the 27 EU 'states'.
If you did move to the UK, you would need to get another certificate of residence. He also has the right to work anywhere in the EU.

If you are not british you have to apply for pr just so he can get it.
being part of the eu just means under the treaty rights you can live and work without restrictions.
The reason i know this my friend just applied for PR after having a resident permit for 5 years.
Hope this helps your question.goodluck.
