Default New years eve in Paris

Hello!!
A couple of friends and I are going to Paris for New Year's Eve. I have been trying to look up places to celebrate that night in Paris, but I have been unable to locate anything. I was actually thinking of having dinner on the Eiffel Tower and then taking a night tour around Paris. Does anyone have any recommendations of where to go??? I have read many of the other NYE posting in Paris... but I live in the US and I am trying to get some specific names of restaurants.... Does anyone know of anything exciting to do or to go to. Perhaps a nice restaurant on Champs Elysee!!!!!

There aren't any very nice restaurants on the Champs (in my opinion).
Some restaurants close that night while others do it up. You'll need
to call ahead to see what they're doing. Some get booked months in
advance. As for the city in general, people generally congregate on
the Champs towards midnight. The street is closed to auto traffic and
filled with revelers. Warning: Many get very drunk. I was there
last NYE, opened a bottle of champagne with some friends, drank it,
then got the hell out of there.

Ok, so I guess what you are saying is to go to Champs Elysee after dinner and just go for a short while...

where would you recommend to go??? Do the French do fireworks anywhere? What about eating dinner on the Eiffel Tower?
