First posting, so forgive, have read many threads but never one on the various modes of travel available throughout europe.
We recently travelled to Finland by bus, (emmigrated in fact), due to, one, I do'nt "enjoy" flying, two, the amount of baggage you can take with you, three, it's a journey rather than a couple of hours or so in an aluminium tube six miles high and finaly it's comparatively cheap.
Having completed the journey, it achieved all of the above, we arrived, the downside being 67 hours without sleep, but what an experience, the journey is a story in itself.
Has anybody out there ventured away from the tradional ways of travelling.

I always sleep on the buses - as well as on the planes.
I arrive rested and can start my tours.
