Not sure why the threads get closed as it gives a reference for comment even after some considerable time. Just a view....
Anyway at the risk of upsetting Slojohn and Boo for different reasons what's all this about a Slovenian fire walker set to get a top EU job.
Good few column inches on Violeta Bulc in the Sunday Times today. Seems she is an ex Basketball player and could become Slos choice for EU transport commissioner even though she has only spent a month in government.
As Slo does not have many people, roads, trains and planes I wonder if is too big a job for this person ? She was second choice after Alenka Bratusek who nominated herself before the government changed.
Best to all. M

I don't think it's up to Ljubljana what post she gets, M - that's for the head honcho Commissioner.
As for only one month in govt - well, there's a few like that, due to Cerar's sudden rise to [shared] power.
"As Slo does not have many people, roads, trains and planes I wonder if is too big a job for this person ?"
Well, that argument does not really work, does it? About the only thing SLO has got a lot of is trees - but they are unlikely to get the agriculture portfolio. I'd imagine, due to the money involved, that will go to one of the big boys, or at least one that Fr*nc+ can control.
Whatever, a Bulc or two in Brussels never did anyone any harm.
Well, not so far

ps I notice your original post has only been up 15 minutes and got 16 views.
Count me out, and that's 15 - but still an awful lot of folks in an awfully short time.
How come so few folks post then?
The other alternative is the SLO snoop police, I suppose - so underemployed that any activity on here and they swarm round like bees on the honey pot, hoping to spot some cyber intelligence agent hoping to find recruits for the hitherto little known, but awfully subversive MIIA - yes, the "Militant Istrijan Independence Army".
Hint, Sargent Saso, if you are there - it's little known 'cos I've just made it up
