Do you live in Slovakia?
Hello
My husband and I are retiring early and the plan is to have a permanent home in Sweden and possibly also to have a smaller place in Slovakia.
Can anyone recommend reputable estate agents please?
Are there any potential pitfalls we could try to avoid?
Moving to Sweden hasnt thrown up any problems...yet.
Advice on Slovakia would be welcome.

I'm Swedish living in England and have visited Slovakia and have friends there. PM me if there is anything I can help you with. Your questions are a tad bit vague.

I was surprised to learn that when buying a Swedish house there's no need to engage a lawyer.
Is that correct?

AS far as I can recall when my parents bought their place - no you don't need a lawyer. What you should do is check for mold and damp before purchase goes through. Once you signed the dotted line and find anything wrong there is nothing to do.
Also, just about every bank act as an estate agent. There are independent agents as well.
