paul,
if you connect the lights onto the power RCD in any exam you shall fail the exam, they like lighting & power separate on there own RCD's.

in reality over here you can add lighting points onto a power circuit however you use 2.5mm T&E cable for power if your connecting lights via the power RCD then you must use 2.5mm cable, & that can be a pig of a job connecting down lights into the small connect blocks.
