Re: practical exam theory
Hello everyone, trust that all is well.
I am from South-Africa, had my documents assesed by Vetassess, outcome = General Electrician 341111. I have to do my practical assessment, I have found a lot of valueble information on this thread but, right in the beginning there were links posted by a couple of guys. These do not work anymore, can someone please resend them or has anyone done their practical recently? Any advise or direction would be highly appreciated. Thanks Fred |

Hi everyone, thanks for all the good info. I am busy working through it as I have my practical with Future Skills at the end of the month. I am hoping to chat to someone about the practical through Future Skills specifically- did anyone do it at the end of Feb that will be happy to shed more light?

Re: practical exam theory
Hi
I was wondering if anyone has recently completed the skills assessment with 'Future Skills International' in Brisbane, I am booked to do mine at the end of the month and was wondering if anyone could give some useful information what I need to read up on and what is involved. Cheers |
Re: practical exam theory
Good afternoon. I have my vetassess exam on Sept 26th in London. I was wondering if anyone has done it recently and if so has anything changed from previous posts. Also when testing is done on the board with light and socket what kind of form was used to fill out test results on. im trying to get everything ready for then and just covering every angle. If anyone also has some good links for motor section of it that would be greatly appreciated as that is the bit I am dreading the most as I never ever do that kind of stuff. Thanks very much Luke

Those assessing your skills will be helpful and they don't expect you to know everything. You do need to brush up on the disconnect / reconnect procedure (you will find it on the Vetassess site) - if you fail that I think they fail you overall. |

The motor side of it was the one that I was dreading the most but to be honest if you know the number sequence it's easy. I done the motor side in about 30 secs connected the leads he puts a fault on it and you have to tell him what it is. The disconnect process is the hardest one. I learnt every bit but as soon as I stood up there had a mental mind block. The bloke was really nice. Don't think there there to fail you unless your a complete numpty so if your a half decent sparky your be fine. Anything else feel free to ask
Thanks Luke. Who did you do your assessment through and where? Think mines in London. The company who it goes through have said there's a technical assessment to do, A series of questions/scenarios that you have to explain how you would approach them and then stuff on resistor colours and ohms law etc. Did you have to do this aswell? Think the the thought of exams/assessment just freaks most people out. Are you going for citizenship in Australia? |
