from what i understand, the ostr is valid for life but why wait that long?

but when you apply for a restricted licence they only give 18 months from date of letter (acknowlegment) to get your licence.

hope this helps

Hi Doc,

Great to hear your news on your CO!

I'm at the stage of needing to apply for hubby's restricted licence now and have just read this regarding the 18 months. Does that mean I'd be better waiting until nearer the time of moving to Oz before applying for it as I believe it takes 12 months to earn a full licence (in Queensland)?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks

the actual course that you need to take at TAFE in WA (other college course in other state may vary) is ten weeks long, from after this i think you can apply for the "a" licence, thats how i understood it. but its a learning curve for us all.

sorry cant be much hlp just yet
