My hubby is sitting the exam, at Peer next week. We live in WA and i read on another forum that you can no longer transfer your license from SA to WA? Can anyone give me anymore info on this as i have looked through the WA energy safety website and it states that through mutual recognition you can still transfer. He has booked his flights etc so he will sit the exam regardless but if anyone has any info on this, that would be great.

If he's got an ARTC for a mechanic no problem. I did it and it took about 1 month to get my WA licence through mutual recognition.
Good luck

Thats a relief!! Did you get your SA license the day you applied for it? We rang today and they said it can take up to a month to issue it?!

From what I can remember they sent it to me. The photo machine was broken and we had to go else where for our pics. Took about 3 weeks for it to arrive, Then applied to WA board for mutual recognition. Easy.

Hi all
Having just landed in Melbourne a week ago I have sent my tra application off and am just looking for work. A guy I spoke to today seemed to think the peer tech route in adelaide was now unavailable, can anyone shed some light on this???
I am hoping to get my A grade within 4 months is the do-able..??

Hi Folks
Sorry if i'm not up to speed with all this but I am about to send off for my ARTC, and want to get a mechanics A grade licence. What Peer course do I have to enrol for in Adelaide to get one.
How long is the course (2 days?)? Can I get the booklet before hand? Are there examples with the books provided? Is the a waiting list for enrolment?
Thanks in advance

By the way for people how are already in South Australia and work here:
Apply for a CITB-Card (Construction and Industrie training board = www.citb.org.au) and the course cost 85$ instead of 505$
. The card cost nothing, u just need to prove that u live in SA (Residental address or with driver license) and that u work here (employer ABN).
When u enroll for the Peer-course, just enter ur CITB# and than they send u a CITB-Form which u have to sign and u get automatically the discount
