Finally...
My hubby has passed his exams and is now a fully licenced Electrician (well he will be this aft when we take his results down )
It's taken 5 months to get to this stage, but we weren't in a rush with the ARTC application etc, so it is possible to do it a little quicker depending on course timing etc.
Just for info: he had to re-sit two questions to get full marks on his exam, but that wasn't a problem as the tutor just rang him and told him to go back in this morning to do them questions again.

It's all a big pain in the behind, and hubby said the course is really boring, but it's not been too bad.
As for the beer, well he's already had a couple

Did he have to do the course at a TAFE?
I was really hoping to get the ARTC done, look at exam dates in Perth and try to get it all done on a reccie....wishful thinking ??

Here in South Australia there are courses at TAFE, but they didn't have spaces until Feb and it was an 18 week course (3 hours, one night a week), but we also have a training center called PEER training. They do courses which are run during the day and last 8 hours a time, so therefore shorter. We did that one because they could fit us straight in and obviously it meant he would do it all quicker. It was $300 more, but worth it we think.
I don't know if they have anywhere like that in WA though.
It's midday here just now.

He said it was just really boring. To answer the questions you have to find the relevant regulation, so really you have to read most of the book!. We had a few days of him shouting at it
