Default Construction sparks

Any british site sparkys managed to get site work without licence etc,it all seems a bit of a ball ache to me!
30 years in this game and your supposed to bend over back wards for these people.
I`VE done jumping through loops if I dont get my visa soon after 2years +4months they can stick it up there arse.I`ll be looking for refund.
I read a letter in the Daily Mail today from a IT specialist who has just applied and found out the new "directives "from chris evans"(hes my next port o call)this guy hit the nail on the head how the DIAC has become a cash cow.
I`ve been on this line for a while now and was thinking of bringing in legal people to represent me on the lagalities of suing the DIAC for taking money from myself on the pretence of getting a visa and doing there damnest not to .I would like to start a campaign about this but there could be consequences for my visa if i ever get it!
There is something not right with the DIAC ,I wish there was an intellectual out there to back me up!
Ok why dont they employ more staff to deal with applications?
I just dont get it!

My advice..

Stop reading the Daily Mail and the letters signed off by the likes of "yours angrily from hertfordshire"

If you want to join join a club it doesn't do to bitch about the rules before you have your membership card/

We have all been dicked around ad it is only worse once you get there with the licencing process but nobody forced us to apply.

Good luck i hope it works out well for you, I am currently in the same boat and after an angry spell I now have a more philosophical outlook and will see if it still suits me to go once I have the visa, at least I'd have had some value for money then

Hello all,

Rinkerding has it right, it's their club and you want to join, nobody is shifting the goal posts because it's you applying, If you are applying as the main applicant, then you will have to do vetessasse and you will then get an OSTR cert. you then have two choices, you can take your cert and apply in the state of your choice and follow the log book route or apply for a ARTC cert and if successfull go and do the Peer course, thus attaining a SA licence, which can be used to transfer to any state using mutual recognition route.

Don't go too far back in the forum because the rules have changed in the last 12 months, all the hard work that wendy and steve'o did in the early years doesn't count but both steve'o and arthur are a mind of info. as they say you pays your money and takes a chance.

Regards

Kevin

Hello All,

Peer is a company that does all the tech gap courses, they do face to face training or correspondence learning, most people do the latter, because it can be done from "blighty". it comes in the shape of a workbook with enough info to allow you to sit the "wiring rules exam". In South Australia that is all you need along with your ARTC cert to get a full unrestricted licence.

Look on the threads from " the_pom_from_aus ", arthur covers it in detail and is the font of all knowledge where peer is concerned.

Regards

Kevin

Kevin, just out of interest, what is the process for applying for a ARTC, and what risk is there of not getting it?

Cheers
