Default artc update - electricians assessed by tra.

hi all. dont know if this is common knowledge but i contacted tra about doing artc cert WITHOUT visa in passport (ie no current proof of residency). if you have already been assessed by tra as part of your visa application then this is possible. and you also dont have to pay for it!!!!!
see attached email.

Dear Lee,
In your case, you can make an application for an ARTC from overseas without your Australian visa. Because you have had a previous pre-migration skills assessment, your first application for an ARTC is at no cost.

Attached is the ARTC application pack. You are however required to submit a complete ARTC application.

I have also looked into this and they will process your application but will not issue you with the ARTC until you have an appropriate visa allowing you to work and oz address.

probably as well to wait a few weeks (hoefully!!!) until visa is granted. then apply with friends address. just getting bloody sick of waiting and want to get on with things.
