Default AM I MAD!- vetasses- WA licence-visa

Hi all

I am a qualified electrician for the past 10 years. I recently completed the vetasses exam in the Uk achieved a successful outcome, and received my off shore technical skills record documents. I have previously lived/worked in Australia on a 1 year working/holiday visa. As I want to go back asap I believe the employer sponsored visa in the quickest route, I have a offer of sponsorship through a contact, but the firm are insisting that I must first get my WA A grade electrical licence. then they will sponsor me. I have the application form to apply for the electricians licence in perth, after submitting that,as far as Im aware I have to do a 2 week training course at a training institute. then on completion I can gain a full A grade licence.

So my main question is can I fly over there on a holiday visa, do the training course and gain the full A grade licence while still on a holiday visa?
Will they look for a work visa before allowing me to do training course

I would greatly appreciate you views.
Thanks in advance!

You may get more answers posting this question in the immigration forum.
Personally, as its only a two week course and your "not working" , the tourist visa I guess would be ok, but I don't know the rules so please don't take my word for this.
Good luck
Paul

so, you've been granted with ARTC from TRA? Yes, you are able to do the course on a holiday visa, I know a guy who is doing this currently
