Advice re EOI

Advice re EOI
Hi just wanted to check something out!
O/H - Brían is qualified Electrician we are from Ireland.
We were over the moon to find out he passed skills assessment last week after taking test in Belfast.
Applied for EOI and was devastated to realise that work experience has to be post qualification! We were counting 8-10 years experience including when he started apprenticeship as he was getting paid to work throughout. Are we defo right - o/h qualified in jan 2006 so can't include work experience while doing apprenticeship between 2001 and 2006 he worked for same company throughout.
We only have 55 points with work experience being in lower bracket so will have to get SS.
Also can anyone confirm the Australian equivalent to national craft certificate level 6 for Electrician.
