Flushing toilet tissues down the loo
Can someone please provide an answer to this issue. Having visited the island on many occasions and having to put the used toilet paper into a bin instead of flushing it away. As we plan to visit the island shortly with a view to retiring there we were wondering if this situation still exists or has the sewage piping system been improved and the internal plumbing been updated for new developments and the main sewage system for the island?

We still put toilet paper in the bin, after two blockages. I find it absolutely gross, but in the end it is less stinky than I imagined.

A lot of the newer properties have drains which can cope with loo paper. The trick is not to buy the thick cushioned papers.
Our house is 10 years old and we have always put paper in the loo but are careful not to use too much. We have never had any blockages at all.

Amazingly enough, the airports, malls and other modern buildings still insist on no toilet paper in the loo. You jusy have to get used it, and after a while, it comes natural.
