Default English language teaching in Cyprus - is there a market for it?

Hi all

I'm a 'digital nomad' able to work anywhere, and I'm thinking of making Cyprus my destination for a few months.

I was considering starting an English language conversation group through Meetup, as a way of meeting people and also earning a little bit of cash.

I know most Cypriots speak good English but is there a possibility that they would like to practice conversational English with a native speaker, and discuss things like business English, CV writing, etc as well as things like slang, regional accents etc?

I'm not a qualified teacher but have experience of running similar groups in India, where they proved quite popular.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Edit: I should clarify, this wouldn't be my only income. I would not need to make money from this; it would just be a way of meeting people and hopefully providing a useful service. I would probably charge something like five to seven Euros an hour.

I am qualified to teach English but found the requirements to run classes were more suitable for an institution than as an individual so I didn't take it any further. There are language schools in every major city but these are more formal. I have seen private adverts in the local papers offering English lessons but most of them also offer translation services too. The standard of spoken English is good when I try to speak Greek I nearly always get a reply in English!
