Default Unmarried Partner Visa - UK Job Offer requirement?

Hi All,

Looking for some advise please. I intend to return home to the UK after living in Australia for 4 years with my New Zealand partner.

I have thoroughly researched the visa requirements and can qualify for them all with no problems.

However the Job offer for the UK citizen is slightly confusing. I cannot find any information as to whether this is compulsory?

I’m hoping there’s a way around it. BUT if it is indeed compulsory which I am assuming it is, does anyone have any advice/experience in finding employment in the UK from Aus, 6months before intending to arrive? (Seems as though this will be tricky!)

Thank you all.

If you qualify for all of them, use the savings route. No job offer required.

Under which category are you intending to apply?

If you have a current job earning over 18,600 GBP then, yes, you need a job in the UK starting within 3 months of your return, also earning 18,600 GBP per annum.

If you do not have a current job earning 18,600 GBP per annum, then you need to return to the UK, find a job, remain in that job for 6 months and then apply for the visa.

If you have 62,500 GBP in savings you do not need a job in the UK.

Read the following document carefully to see how you qualify:
