Received email Weds 8th July: “I have passed this escalation on to the team dealing with your case. Your VAC has now re-opened so please be assured that we will conclude your application and return any documents we hold as soon as possible.”
Emailed MP Weds 15th July
Received application received email @3:30am Friday 17th July (so from Osaka centre): “The processed visa application for reference number - XXXX was received at the UK Visa Application Centre on 17/Jul/2020If a courier service was purchased from VFS Global, your processed application will be delivered to the chosen address.”
Received passport in the post with visa, and letter dated 9th July today, Saturday 18th July.
This difference between letter date and date of receipt makes me think that they do actually send the passport to the U.K.- I had always assumed the decision was made in Sheffield and the visa was stuck in locally.
86 working days from application date/83 working days from biometrics appointment date to receiving visa. Nearly 3x longer than promised 30 days... Thanks to everyone who answered my questions, and good luck to all waiting!
