Hi, we applied for UK spouse visa on Friday - completed bio metrics appointment but now we are concerned we have not met all requirements. We completed the checklist provided and that was all - we assumed that was all they wanted, but from reading the experience of others a lot more information appears to have been included that we did not see requested. Where are you all getting your required documents from if not the government website and application form? We cant do anything about it now but i am confused as to where all the extra needed info comes from and maybe want to prepare for further documents being requested.
I am UK/ Aus citizen and plan to return to UK with my Aus husband, we meet financial requirements through past income and job offer in UK.

Yes in Sydney on Friday, we submitted payslips and bank statements for 12 months, letters from current employer and future employer, marriage certs, divorce certs, current joint tenancy agreement, passports, and that was all that was on the checklist so then just as an extra we added birth certificate, email from future employer confirming start date, some text messages from throughout the relationship, joint savings account statement and flights from holidays we took together...?

Anything to demonstrate how you will meet the accommodation requirement?

That should hopefully suffice.

The checklist is notorious for not being inclusive of everything needed.

So you know of people or have personal experience of providing everything in the checklist and it not being enough? I dont understand why the checklist they provide would leave things off? I guess we will just need to wait.

we have no idea yet, we haven’t heard anything, we are on working day number 22 now but will feedback when we hear anything.

Does non UK spouse income have any effect on applying for visa ?

Not for the first visa, but spouse income can also be used to meet the financial requirement for the subsequent visas.

If applying from outside the UK then the applicant’s salaried income cannot be used to meet the financial requirements.
