Switching to a UK Spouse Visa
My partner (a British national) and I (Bruneian - not UK/EEA citizen) are considering getting married in order for me to continue to stay in the UK.
However, he's still a student and I just graduated from my Master's degree, looking for a permanent job here. Most companies don't sponsor visa anymore due to the strict requirements for visa sponsorship.
Because of this situation, we have been considering to get married.
I have read that there's is a financial requirement of £18,600 with some exceptions. One of them is if my partner is receiving the Personal Independence Payment, and he in fact is.
How will the calculations of the financial requirement be calculated? Can this include my income too?
Also, once I have successfully applied for the spouse visa, can my partner leave the country to study aboard?

Not much point in applying for a spouse visa if your sponsor doesn’t intend to live in the UK.

Sorry I didnt state it clearly. He wants to study abroad for a year or two for his postgrad and will return to the UK after his completion of study. So I'm not sure how this affects the spouse visa.

Again, there’s little point in applying for a spouse visa if you’re planning to live apart.
