SS Route Ireland-Customs Help

SS Route Ireland-Customs Help
Hi everyone, Me (UK Citizen) and Wife (US ) arrived yesterday to Ireland but there was no customs/immigration check, they just waved us through. Do I need to go to local Police and state my intentions there (that is I am here to work etc) ? Not sure what to do next.

Yes, came in using the ferry. I think we need to just go to the police station and report there.
