No ....but you must have had the savings under your control for 6 months (unless from house sale)

Thats Great !

I have one more question, for a person who wants to use salary + saving to cover up the salary shortfall. Lets say the person needs a saving of 20K, They had a saving of 23K in their account from January to February 2018 but the amount dropped to 20K in March 2018 and from there onwards till July 2018 the amount has been 20K.

Now can they include January& February (23K in bank) to July as 6 months for the 20k savings ? or they have to start from March where 20K was shown on bank book?

Only the amount of savings being relied on to meet the financial requirement needs to be in the bank for 6 months - so if £20,000 of savings is needed, then a minimum of £20,000 for 6 months. More is fine, less is not.

Thanks !

i was just worried if they dont see the exact 20k throughout the 6 months then they might reject the application. you know how stringent they can be !

Just checking that you know that the first £16K of savings don't count for income offset purposes? £20K savings only decreases the income retirement to £17,000 pa.
