Default Spouse Visa processing times out of Asia

Hello everyone !

Was just wondering if anyone can shed some light on UK Spouse Visa processing times out of Asia (not sure if there are any differences between regions) ?

Was told in VFS during the appointment that it is 3-6 months depending on individual circumstances. Makes sense.

But curious to know real life examples and what timelines to expect to help with our planning.

Many thanks !

UK Spouse Visa STRICTLY TIMELINES ONLY - NO CHAT

check out this link, hopefully it helps. Agree getting real life examples helps, it’s a bit of a shame not everyone contributes to this link.

It is helpful to give an idea, but it's so dependent on various factors that it can be quite disheartening for some when they see other cases progressing much quicker. OP, it might be helpful if you specified which country in Asia? Somebody in a low risk country is going to have a different experience to somebody in one of the 'high fraud' countries with an application that would be scrutinised much more closely.

‘Asia’ is very broad. There will be a huge disparity between applications submitted in Bangladesh, Hong Kong and Japan.

Not really and is totally a delusional presumption. If you read the bigger forum then will see that this is not how the visa authorities work because applications from other parts of world dubbed as secure/advanced/developed or whatever consuming similar time. However, a simplified case where there is no previous complex immigration history involved and all other requirements are met satisfactorily then the processing itself gets turbocharged. However, based on my personal analysis derived from several other forums the applications from south America take usually longer than anywhere else.

Except you then go on to say the same thing about applications from South America.

Probably you didn't notice what I had actually postulated which was merely an observation after reading few larger forums having specific timeline by country wise. Also, seen members from these countries there venting off their rant about this obnoxious wait. Thus, my statement doesn't contain a modicum of stereotyping versus yours which is horrendously inflammatory.

Certain countries are known for a much higher fraud incident rate, which means their countries applications will be scrutinised much more carefully. That's not inflammatory, it's fact.

Hi everyone - thank you for the responses .

We applied from India , so being a “high-risk” country guess it’s wise to expect longer processing time out of here.

One of my acquaintances with Kazakhstan passport applied out of Delhi as the family was based here at the time as expats. Processing time was 4-5 months approximately 2 years ago.
